The 2009 winner of the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition, now in its 45th year, was Jose Luis Rodriguez with his amazing “Storybook Wolf”. The competition run by BBC Wildlife Magazine and London’s Natural History Museum is one of the most prestigious for photographers and pays £10,000 for a first place photo.

As it turns out Rodriguez’ Photo may have been a fake. He has been accused of using a trained wolf to create the scene.  The rules of the competition state: “Images of captive animals must be declared. The judges will [give] preference to images taken in free and wild conditions.”
